Brown Shoe's compensation committee declared a "new normal" for compensation practices in 2010, and for Chief Executive Ronald Fromm that meant a near-doubling of total pay.. The biggest increases were in Fromm's annual bonus, which jumped 175 percent to $1.78 million, and in his stock award, which was 184 percent larger at $1.45 million. Fromm also got a salary of $856,500 and his pension rose in value by $917,288. His perquisites included $337,681 worth of personal flights on company planes and $15,697 worth of tax and financial planning services.
